Q3Test1 Guide
I don't know about the rest of you, but for me Q3test1 is the internet deathmatch map of choice when it comes to Q3A. Sure, i love the jump pads and the innovation of q3test2, but 16 players on screen at once, on my 56k connection? i think not. So, that other map (you know, the boring, traditional one) is it. Anyway, it's late, there's nothimg on TV, and Billy hasn't updated voodooextreme, so i thought i might as well share with y'all my thoughts on this map. NB: most of this stuff is fairly basic, i'm not Tresh, but i hope most of you can get at least something from it. Judging by the quality on my local (quake4.eisa.net.au) some of you could learn a hell of a lot :) Anyhoo, first up, cheap kills:

These are my favorites:
The portal. Stand behind here with the rail, and they'll never know what hit em. Tends to work only once per person :)

Stairs. Your best bet here is to run down to the RL then back to here, the aim is to get your opponent to come up the stairs after you. Plant a rocket in him when he does.. Easy.
Now this is really cheap. Wait here, and time you rockets so they go straight down the throat of that guy coming up the stairs. BTW, the defense to this is to rocket jump up to the teleporter and pump one into the camping bastards back :)
This one isn't so easy, whilst you won't normally be seen, you have to time the rocket well to do any useful damage. As soon as you fire, jump down and pursue your prey. If you stay up there you're a sitting duck. You have to rocket jump to get here of course.
Another fairly simple one. Just fire the rocket as he comes up the stairs.
This one on the other hand is resonably tough. You have to be bloody fast to get in a decent shot before you prey bolts here. The other tactic here is to get the red armour and then rocket jump back out the way you came. This is useful if there's someone on your tail and you don't want to run down the passage and out the gate - where you'll be an easy rocket target.
The original Cheap Kill. Almost as bad as a BFG kill.
